CII Session II on Green Infrastructure

21 Feb 2014: CII Chennai Zone (Confederation of Indian Industry) with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), Chennai Chapter to organize a half-day Session on “Green Infrastructure” on Friday, 21 February 2014 at 1230 Hrs at Hotel ITC Park Sheraton.

Pavitra Sriprakash, the Chief Urban Designer and Director of Shilpa Architects Planners Designers will Chair the Session II – Case Study & experience sharing session scheduled between 1445 and 1730 hrs.

The objective of this session is to create awareness on the need for Green Buildings and Communities – Planning, Policies and Implementation.

Green Infrastructure is a network providing the “ingredients” for solving urban and climatic challenges by building with nature. The main components of this approach include storm water management, climate adaptation, less heat stress, more biodiversity, food production, better air quality, sustainable energy production, clean water and healthy soils, as well as the more anthropocentric functions such as increased quality of life through recreation and providing shade and shelter in and around towns and cities.
