The article outlines the section of the Budget where the Union Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley, has allocated a sum of Rs. 1.77 lakh crore in the next five years for more than 40 Agri & Farming related programs. This promises to double farmers’ incomes by improving irrigation, monitoring and improving soil conditions, introducing technology to wholesale marketing online and of course for supporting pricing of agricultural produce.
