Decathlon is a French sporting goods retailer with close to 70 stores in India. This is their sixth and the largest store in Tamil Nadu with a retail area of about 32,000 Sq.ft and a covered play area of 5,000 Sq.ft . This  is a two-storey structure wherein the ground floor is predominantly on RCC stilts and first floor is fully a pre-engineered steel structure. The stilt floor is used for parking over 200 cars and it also houses the services and administrative spaces. The first floor has an oversized 230′ x 130′ column free, double-height retail hall and an ancillary play area of 5,000 sq.ft,  all built using steel. This is fully air conditioned  store with majority of their energy needs fulfilled using solar power.
