Rio+20 – Vote for the future you want

Sheila Sri Prakash, the Chief Architect of Shilpa Architects is an invitee to the WEF’s Council on Design Innovation. She has since been invited to be part of the initiative to contribute to Rio+20 Dialogue. Her recommendations have been included among the top ideas to be voted. To ensure that the key points of the top ten recommendations are captured and brought to the attention of the Sustainable Development Dialogues, there is request to Sheila from Jayne Musumba, United Nations Development Programme as per follows.

Please visit http://vote.riodialogues.org/ and select the ideas that you consider to be the most important. You must vote before June 15, 2012. Please also vote for her recommendation on “Sustainable Cities and Innovation,” and “The Economics of Sustainable Development, including Sustainable Patterns of Production and Consumption”:

“Promote global standards of standards of sustainability for cities”

“The design of urban spaces should take into account the empowerment of local communities”

The Economics of Sustainable Development, including Sustainable Patterns of Production and Consumption:

“Promote a holistic approach to sustainable development taking into account environmental, economic, political and social aspects”

The votes will inform the recommendations for sustainable development that are presented to the heads of state at the Rio+20 Conference in Rio de Janeiro the end of June.
